”sixth grade romance”

late-night phone calls,
(it’s only seven)
holding hands,
(on the playground)
too shy to kiss.

don't forget that boy
because you’re never
going to see him again,
and don’t forget him
because you’ll never
love anyone
the way that you
loved him.

Short and bittersweet. You remember your sixth-grade romance, right? Mine was ridiculous.

Next, I think I'd like to a story in email form. I had to do that for a class one time, and it was incredibly fun. (Has anyone read the children's book "ChaseR"?) I wish I could find it.

Oh no! I'm turning soppy! (Emo noooo)

Ah, sixth grade romance. As a sixth grader, I actually avoid more-than-friends contact...:XD:

Oh wow, I like it. *Purrs*
It's very bittersweet and very true.

Wouldn't you want me to swim,
Wouldn't you want me to stay?"

I would expect that from you. You seem much more mature than many high-schoolers, at times.

From what I remember from the book, it was all one-sided, aka you only got the emails that the main character sent, not the replies he got. I think, as well, Ann M. Martin (of Babysitter's Club fame) wrote a few books in both letter and email form. It an interesting way to write, although not the best, I think.

Thanks for commenting. :)

i like the style, though i agree it isn't the best.
you lose a the descriptions and more of perception in the mind.

Never experienced it and I've passed sixth grade now :( I do remember a game at infants school called 'Kiss-Chase'
I like the 'late-night phone calls' when it's only seven :D
